The Academic Success Center (ASC) offers course-specific tutoring to assist students in understanding course concepts, homework assignments, and preparing for exams.
In supporting the mission of Learning Support Services, the tutoring program aims to assist UD students as they become self-determined, motivated, and independent learners. An affirmative and proactive approach supports student-development of the general learning strategies necessary for success in the classroom and in professional life.
Who are our tutors?
Peer tutors are UD students that have been successful in their studies and want to help other students succeed. Peer tutors are carefully selected on the basis of academic skill, leadership, character, and the ability to communicate with their peers from varying educational, cultural, and social backgrounds.
Peer tutors must meet the following qualifications:
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Receive a faculty recommendation
- Earn an A or A- in the courses they wish to tutor
As successful students, peer tutors share their knowledge, learning strategies, and love of learning as they create a friendly, inclusive environment that fosters academic achievement.
